July...where did you go??

Wow! What a busy month! But so so much fun. I made LOTS of flowers, played dress up with Gingermegs Vintage for a vintage bridal shoot (shot by the lovely Nicola of Daffodil Waves) and I went to Ibiza!!

Cannot wait for August to see what that brings :)

What did you get up to in July? Did it whiz by for you too?

Mellow Yellow

All this sunshine has got me feeling happy, relaxed and well, sunny!

It can be difficult to make yellow work as a colour theme for a wedding. If its too subtle, it can end up getting washed out, if its used too much it can be a little blinding. But you CAN get the right mix. Use it well and wisely and you can end up with an amazing result!

Here are 16 wonderfully gorgeous yellow things to inspire you (and yes, there is a dog with a bow tie!) :) Enjoy.

Who needs an ACTUAL wedding dress anyway?

I was browsing one of my favourite high street stores websites this week and stumbled across a tonne of gorgeous dresses. It turns out that said favourite high street store (that would be Topshop then) have started a bridal range.

This got me to thinking.

Do brides of today really need to be visiting what can sometimes be snooty and over opinionated bridal boutiques in order to find their dream dress? (I must say here that not all bridal shops are like this but it's very disheartening when you stumble across one that is) I'm not so sure anymore. Below are just SOME of my favourite dresses available on a high street near you that would suit todays modern bride down to the ground! (including a skirt and top combo!) - if I'd put them all you'd be here until next Wednesday!

What do you think? Would you ever consider anything other than a bridal gown from a bridal shop? or would you prefer to go to town with your mate, grab a Pizza Express, pop into Topshop and come out with your dream dress?

Answers on a post card please (or in the comments box below will do)

Till death do us part

We all make this pledge when we're stood at the altar. To love each other until death do us part. However, many of us fail to make this same commitment to our wedding flowers. Why should you suffer the pain and suffering of watching them die? Don’t you want to love them forever?

Well, luckily for you , that’s where I come in.

Almost a year on my wedding bouquet is still in full bloom and sits in pride of place in my study where I get to look at it all day long (see the pics below). Its kept in a gorgeous jug that also featured in our wedding. I also have the flower bombs from our day hanging on the study door. I turn around from my desk and BOOM, a gorgeous splash of colour hits me right in the face! Perfect in this miserable weather!

The fact that your flowers will last forever is just one of the many reasons why it is worth considering fabric flowers over real to compliment your special day. I could go on (if you suffer from allergies, colour choices are endless etc) but I don’t want to bore you now do I.

Aahhh June...

Here's what I got up to in June. It was a pretty exciting month what with both Under The Vintage Veil's first birthday bash and attending Rock N Roll Brides School of Rock.

July is shaping up to be a pretty good, if not wet, month too.

I would love to know how the month of June treated you. Any highlights?
